Bonmarché, which was bought of administration by retail mogul Philip Day in February, fell into administration for the second time on Tuesday (December 1).

RSM, who have been appointed administrators, said no redundancies or store closures have yet been made.

However, the fashion retailer’s Hastings store is now running a closing down sale.

Staff were notified by email about Bonmarché’s administration on Tuesday.

Bonmarché said they would work with administrators to ‘save as many jobs as possible’.

RSM said they were confident of finding a new buyer for Bonmarché.

The news comes during a particularly tough week for the high street, which saw the Arcadia Group fall into administration and Debenhams entering liquidation, putting all their shops and thousands of jobs at risk.
