Stephen Holt from the BID said, “The plan is that on Christmas Eve someone will win the “Best Ever Year in Eastbourne” and be able to attend all the major tourism events, as well as a fabulous selection of prizes.

“Two runners up will also receive £100 worth of shopping vouchers from the Enterprise Centre.

“The purpose of this is to encourage spending in our town centre. Both national chains and local independents are important to a successful, healthy, high street. This year, more than ever it is vital that we support our town centre.”

To enter, people simply have to spend £40 in any business in the town centre. This can be at either local shops or national chains. It can be in restaurants, pubs, beauty parlours, entertainment venues, barbers, coffee shops and cafes

People need to send a copy of their receipt to [email protected]

They should keep hold of the ticket, as organisers will want to see it before handing over the prizes

People can enter as many times as they like – every time they spend £40. They can also provide a collection of receipts under £40 – and send them in – as long as it totals £40.
