Business offering home renovation advice opens in Battle

Opened under the ownership of Battle resident Zak Hurst and his wife Lizzy, The Honest Hub invites locals to pup in for a cup of tea and offers customers tips on their renovation projects.

Branding itself as a ‘one stop shop’ for all those complicated trade questions, it offers free advice on electrical, plumbing and drainage issues, and a kitchen and bathroom showroom.

Zak and Lizzy, along with Golden Retriever Ted, are keen to break the barriers people face when embarking on a new home venture, by offering friendly and easy to understand guidance.

The Honest Hub also serves as a shopfront for the couple’s business, Southern Energy Solutions, founded nine years ago, which provides plumbing, heating and electrical services to customers in the South East.

Zak said: “We want to help people from the local community and are encouraging them to pop in and have chat about anything and everything to do with their home.

“Alongside this we also want to help the town wherever possible from sponsoring the local football team to volunteering and raising money for the Battle Festival.

“If clients decide to go ahead with an idea and use our services, they will be able to get a feel for our company and our values before our engineers even step foot through their front door.

“The idea is to make the process much less daunting for people and to make sure we are offering the best service we can from the get go.”

Anyone is welcome to visit the Hub whether it is for an upcoming project, general building advice or to browse a range of products.

The plan is to open other locations of The Honest Hub across the South East so Zak and the team can cover a much wider area and help even more towns and their residents.
