Why May is now Queen month

The latest of St Mary In The Castle's marvellously themed film months is already under way. May is designated Queen month according to this splendid venue in recognition of Her Majesty's 90th birthday and proceedings kicked off with The Adventures of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert on Wednesday.

Coming up next week is Aliens, on Wednesday May 11, followed by Queen Bee on May 25 and then, hilariously, Goodfellas the week after on June 1. There is no film screening on May 18. Manager Sean Berkeley commented: “We wanted to come at things a little differently and are right happy with our selection; can you work out the Queen connection for each film? We’re loving all of your support for our film seasons and want to see as many of you here each week to say hello in person.” Doors open 6.45pm, film starts 7.15pm; tickets cost £5. either on the door or www.musicglue.com
