Top trombonist here on Sunday
This Sunday at Beauport Park golf club Mike Hatchard will welcome one of the UK’s top trombonists Chris Dean to play in his Jazz Breakfast from 11am.
Chris, lead of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, is also a “formidable” vocalist according to Mike who said: “If that wasn’t enough, in addition to my usual trio, we also have a string section guesting on some numbers and a rumoured special visit by 15 year old Harry Whitty...As it’s Armistice Day we’ll start with a minute’s respectful silence – and then guarantee a couple of hours of glorious music making. Chris’s CV is ridiculous - Streisand, Sinatra etc - it’s almost easier to list people he hasn’t worked with.” The £9.50 entry fee includes a pastry and a coffee.
