Tim, the brother of television and radio stalwart Jeremy, is a writer, actor, comedian and presenter, known for his role on the BBC series Not Going Out until his departure in 2012.

He has released a number of DVDs of his stand-up comedy and has written several joke books but is perhaps known for his relentless one-liners. Last year he again won the much-prized Edinburgh Fringe award for best joke - “I’ve decided to sell my Hoover...well. it was just collecting dust.” He first won this honour in 2010 with: “I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what, never again.”

To find the favourite joke, 10 judges scoured the festival’s venues for a week before nominating their three favourite jokes. They were then put to the public vote, with 2,000 people choosing the 10 they found funniest.

On Monday this week, the day after the Summer Solstice, Tim tweeted: “Yesterday went on a bit, didn’t it #longestday.”

His act comprises many such treasures, loads of new jokes, silly songs and twitchy dancing thrown in. Tim’s support act is John Archer. To book call White Rock box office on 01424 462 288.
