Mark, who is patron of the charity, has won awards for his comedy and his campaigning work, including the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award. He has just returned from a run of shows in New York.

Naomi from HFS said: “We are thrilled to have a great patron who is really committed to our charity. The last event, at De La Warr Pavilion, was amazingly successful. People had a great night out and we raised enough funding to run our DIY and craft sessions at women’s refuges for a year.”

Punk poet Attila the Stockbroker will also perform at the event on December 14. Tickets are £15 (concessions £10) from Tourist Information or online via hfs.org.uk.
