Grease is the word at Bexhill’s Venue

The musical that has been hailed as the “No.1 greatest musical of all time” will be performed from 11th-12th and 14th-18th July 2014 at The Venue, Bexhill High.

Set in 1959, Grease tells not only the famous story of Danny and Sandy, but also how America was changed in the 1950s by Rock ’n’ Roll, heralding a new age of freedom and the advent of ‘the teenager’.

It is the original High School Musical, featuring all the unforgettable songs from the hit movie, including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted To You and many more.

This is Grease as audiences know and love it. With the T-Birds, Pink Ladies and more high energy singing and dance routines than you can shake a stick at, Grease has been a West End and Broadway success since the early 1970s.

The show will be directed by international award winner Adam Hepkin and choreographed by Stephanie Hepkin who has worked extensively in the West End and with artists such as S-Club 7, Craig David, Geri Halliwell and on Top of the Pops.

West End star and assistant choreographer of Matilda on Broadway, Leanne Pinder, has been engaged to create the choreography for Cha-Cha DiGregorio.

The visually stunning, professional stage set will be provided by Scenic Projects. The production will also benefit from a band of professional musicians.

Previous productions have been hailed as “outstanding” (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, 2010) “Visionary! Amazing! Incredible!” (Macbeth, 2011) “fabulous” and “breathtaking”(A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2012) “first class” (Godspell, 2011), Sweeney Todd (2012) was called “an absolute triumph” with the audience being “enthralled by the sheer professionalism of the young group who just oozed enthusiasm” our “enchanting” production of Honk! (2013) was praised for it’s “credible acting, glorious singing and well-choreographed production numbers” Jesus Christ Superstar (2013) contained “the best choreography [I have] ever seen in a production”, Elegies for Angels Punks and Raging Queens(2013), featuring the X-Factor’s Jayson Newland, West End Star Zoë Doano and Film Star, Craig Garner was critically acclaimed as “moving”, “hard to beat” and “amazing” whilst our most recent production of Oklahoma! was praised as “a masterpiece” that “left it’s audiences elated”.
