THE GRIEF OF WAR

Remember those who died in war,The hopes and dreams of those who fell; And grieving ones they left behind,Far more than I could ever tell.

Oh, heavy hearts that heard the news,

The dreaded news they always feared

Of loved ones never to return,

Who died upon the battlefield.

Great God we were not made for this-

To suffer pain, and grief and woe.

Our liv es are brief anough for sure,

And war we need to overthrow.
