Heavy winds are still hitting Crawley and Horsham this morning (Monday).

After a bust night for the emergency services, commuters are still being warned to take care this morning.

Sussex Newspapers’ Head of News and Spiort ark Dunford said: “I travelled in from Crawley to Horsham this morning and it was treacherous. I could feel the car being taken by the wind a couple of times.

“Luckily, I didn’t see any real damage as I drove from Broadfield to Horsham town centre - apart from a Travis Perkins sign blown over.

“I just urge everyone to take as much care as they can if they are travelling this morning.”
