Opening on November 14 with its first curated exhibition – Bringing into Being - Murmurations will showcase nine local artists in a range of mediums and different artistic traditions. The gallery aims to support and provide exhibition space for local and regional artists and will be looking for new members to join.

Director, Joe Nguyen said: “It’s been a long rollercoaster ride but we have always said that once Starlings, the art and craft gift shop, was self-sustaining, we would open a space in the rear of the building for artists to exhibit their work. Hopefully the gallery will also give an opportunity for artists from different mediums, other than traditional paintings, such as mixed media, ceramics or sculpture to showcase their work.”

The gallery will be both an exhibiting and commercial gallery and hopes to work with a host of local and regional art groups, studios, and galleries to run a lively programming schedule. Artists who wish to join or to exhibit should contact [email protected] or go to their website www.murmurationsgallery.co.uk where further information is available. The gallery is open Tue-Sun 10.30am-4.30pm.
