South of England Show’s first day hailed a success

Organisers of the South of England Show have hailed yesterday’s (Thursday) first day as a roaring success.

Thousands of people from across the region took advantage of the soaring temperatures to head to the South of England Showground at Ardingly near Haywards Heath.

The show is now in its 48th year and is a mix of the traditional agricultural festival and fun for all the family.

Despite a wet start to the today in some parts of the county, show organisers are hopeful of an other bumper attendance today.

A spokesman for the show said of yesterday: “It was a fantastic start to the show with wall to wall sunshine and thousands of people through the gates!”

The show finishes tomorrow (Saturday).
