Music for Midsummer celebration at church

Christchurch Methodist Church , Springfield Rd, Bexhill

Saturday June 20 at 7pm

This summer, the Christchurch Singers will again be part of the Bexhill Festival of Music. Under conductor Pat Reigh, the choir will take its audience on a journey through such diverse pieces as the beautiful Flying Free, Jazzy Amen, As Long As I Have Music, God’s Choir, Because He Lives, and The Well is Deep. Echoing the midsummer title, the audience will be invited to dip a toe in the waves of I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside. Joining Mavis Foskett, Elizabeth Bush makes her debut as accompanist to The Christchurch Singers, along with Gerald Witts on the Father Willis Organ. Hilary Morton, flute, completes the line-up. Barry Turnwell is, as ever, an entertaining MC.

The Choir are delighted to have as their guest artistes, Voice Prints under the direction of Julie George. This group of six talented young ladies will perform Three Hungarian Folk Tunes, Lady Mary, Perhaps Love, and Kyrie. Gabby and Beth will duet in The Rose.

There will be no charge for admission or refreshments, but a collection will be made for The Huntington’s Disease Association.
