Improvised jazz by world class duo

Veryan Weston and Trevor Watts, masters of improvised jazz, will perform at youth project Respond Academy, Silchester Mews, St Leonards, tonight (Friday).

Friday’s gig will be a second chance to hear this duo at Respond Academy, with Veryan Weston on piano and Trevor Watts on saxophone.

They have just returned from a successful appearance at the Ad Libitum festival in Warsaw and previously the Kanjiza Festival in Serbia.

They were called back for two encores at the end of both performances, showing the music really is connecting with people more than ever before.

The two have been crafting and honing their style for many years.

Trevor Watts has been associated with the British free jazz and improvised music scene since the mid-1960s, best known for his involvement in the Spontaneous Music Ensemble.

His music has taken him all over the world.

Veryan Weston is best-known for his work with such British avant-garde musicians as vocalist Phil Minton and saxophonist Lol Coxhill.
