Exhibition showcases artist’s work inspired by famous Sussex garden

An exhibition of work inspired by the gardens of Great Dixter will be at First Sight Gallery, 34 High Street, Hastings, from today (October 18) until November 17.

Working from the gardens of Great Dixter Anny Evason has created a series of very large and powerful charcoal drawings and a collection of sketchbooks and smaller works.

After graduating in fine art at Brighton College of Art, Anny moved to Australia and spent thirteen years travelling, painting and drawing and working in theatre.

Since 2000 she has been designing outside spaces, private and public, teaching, and developing herthoughts about landscape through painting and drawing.

Great Dixter, in Northiam, is a Tudor house with famous gardens.

The gallery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
