DVD review: Tracers (7 out of 10)

If you are a fan of free running (or parkour as it’s also called) then you’ll love this movie.

The same team who pieced together the incredible chase scene at the start of Skyfall are behind some exceptional acrobatics that form the basis of the film.

However, it’s not just about people bouncing about - there’s a decent solid plot as well.

Taylor Lautner plays Cam, a young man who is in deep trouble.

He owes lots of cash to a rather unpleasant money-lender, lives in garage he can barely afford and scrapes a living as a bicycle courier.

However, one day he meets a mysterious young lady, Nikki (played by Marie Avgeropoulos) who is free-running across New York and causes Cam to wreck his bike.

But this encounter leads our hero to come into contact with a gang of free-runners, led by Miller (Adam Rayner), who use their stealthy skills to gain money.

There’s a lot of action, both on foot and on a bike, as you would imagine and Lautner leads the way and proves he’s a good leading movie actor.

The tension is ramped up well at the end and the production team do their best not to make it all too obvious which way the plot is heading.

Tracers will hit the spot for teenagers and those in their early 20s but there’s plenty of admire for older audiences.
