Dance the night away at St Mary in the Castle

Just in time for the Jack in the Green festival, St Mary in the Castle’s Have A Go dance series continues with The English Ceilidh, with live music from The Sugar Loaf Band tonight (Friday) at 8pm.

Try your hand at a new dance with professional teachers, then dance the night away with music and a late night bar. Come and learn how to ceilidh dance properly the week before Jack in the Green, learn the steps and the correct moves and have a go at some of the more complex dances that are not usually done in a public ceilidh. Hastings top ceilidh band the Sugar Loaf Band will be leading the session. No need to book in advance - just pay on the door. Cost is £4.

Tomorrow (Saturday) from 7pm sees Hastings Philharmonic Choir and Ensemble Orchestra with conductor Marcio da Silva performing Cherubini - Requiem in C min and Brahms - Violin Concerto. Tickets are £15 - stalls (£13 concession), £10 - gallery (£8 concession), £3 for 16years and under. Ring 01424 552199, visit www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or Hastings Information Centre at Aquila House.
