Come to park and glory in the HastingsBig Choir

The sixth year’s presentation of Hastings finest choral tradition can be heard on Thurs July 2 at 7.30 p.m. in the marquee in Alexandra Park when maestro Roger Wilcock’s brain child, the Hastings Big Choir - over two hundred voices joining in harmony - invites you to join in raising the roof in glorious sound.

This unique choir is an amalgam of trained singers, experienced amateurs, folks who always wanted to join in and sing but didn’t know how to set about it, and those who have ‘picked it up as they go along.’ One thing all have in common is their joy in music-making and conveying this to their audience. With melodies from the likes of Grieg to Gershwin, under Roger’s expert tuition and guidance this assortment of different musical capabilities is fused into an whole with the spirit of of each piece is communicated to one and all.

The accompaniment is provided by three bands.

Music from stage, screen and TV is included in a programme which brings music of all kinds from 7.30 p.m. onwards, though you are welcome to come from 6 p.m. Bring your own seating, be it Knoll sofa or travelling rug. Refreshments are available throughout the evening.
