Eastbourne Open calls for artist entries across Sussex

VOLT has unveiled the first in a regularly-occurring series of open-call exhibitions – VOLT 2021: Eastbourne Open.

The Eastbourne Open invites submissions from artists living, working or studying in Sussex, up to ten of whom will be chosen to exhibit at VOLT later this year.

Adam Spain, exhibitions and development manager, said: “We are particularly looking forward to seeing submissions from Eastbourne artists, with a view to showcasing local talent and a diverse range of media.

“There is no set theme, and all media will be considered. Entries will be viewed by a select panel of three judges, to be announced soon.”

Submissions are open now, with a deadline of May 31.

Artists will be asked to provide: a CV, including an artist’s statement; a submission document, including photos and a description of your work; and a portfolio showing past work/projects.

VOLT 2021: Eastbourne Open will run from October 21-December 22 (dates subject to change depending on lockdown extension/Covid restrictions) at VOLT Gallery and Project Space, 67-69 Seaside Road, Eastbourne, BN21 3PL

“If there are specific installation requirements for your work, please include these in your submission document. Installation/lighting requirements must be supplied at this time if integral to the work.”

Artist collectives are welcome: “Please include all names of artists with your submission and one point of contact.

“All artists will be notified by email on or before August 13 2021. It is not possible to provide personalised feedback for entrants.” www.volteastbourne.org.uk
