He was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and his 2009 show about his resulting perfectionism was nominated in the Best Show category.

He’s gone on to build a reputation as one of the most inventive and individual stand-ups working in Britain today and he brings his new show Old Man to the De La Warr Pavilion on Friday May 26 - no doubt wearing the attractive brown cardigan he’s pictured in here.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £20.50 from box office on 01424 229111 or www.dlwp.com.

The British Comedy Award nominee is embarking on this nationwide tour to complain about the state of the world and offer no solutions.

Since his last show he has become a husband and father, seen the UK vote to leave the EU and watched the rise of Donald Trump, all of which leaves him asking one question - why does it seem that no one else alive can correctly load a dishwasher?

Away from stand-up Jon is massively in demand for television and radio appearances. His recent TV credits include Have I Got News For You, Live At The Apollo, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The 02, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and Grumpy Young Men. Jon has also starred in Channel 4 documentaries such Jon Richardson: A Little Bit OCD, in which he studied the lives of people diagnosed with OCD; he was indeed revealed to exhibit symptoms of OCD, but did not show signs of the accompanying dysfunction. The show won the 2013 Mind Award in the documentary category. He also took part in The Real Man’s Road Trip – Sean and Jon Go West, a two-part series in which he Sean Lock travelled to Louisiana to experience the local culture and lifestyle.
