The glamorous fashion and performance art showcase of up-and-coming design talent, FRONT ROW, is back with a whole new theme and invites creative designers to step into the spotlight.

FRONT ROW is an annual non-profit fashion/performance art event promoting sustainable ‘compassion’ fashion by showcasing young innovative designers and their collections created from vintage, customized second-hand, re-worked and recycled garments in a glamorous and professional environment.

The event features two favourite charities; Terrence Higgins Trust highlighting World Aids Day on December 1 and St Michael’s Hospice.

Hosted at the iconic De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, for the first time the event will take place over an entire weekend; a catwalk show on the evening of Saturday, November 21 and an all day Fashion Fair on Sunday, November 22.

Creative director Freya von Bulow, said this year’s creative theme is open to each designers personal interpretation, adding: “This is FRONT ROW’s seventh year and there will be a showcase of 12 carefully selected designers with collections to the theme ‘Out of this World’ drawing inspiration from the universe, planets and space as well as lost or invisible worlds, the mind or just sheer other-worldly glamour - an epic undertaking indeed.”

This grand scale production includes music performances, performance art installations, theatre and the Charity Shop Challenge Awards, an inspiring opportunity for designers and amateurs alike to submit a garment fashioned from customized second-hand charity shop clothes with a budget of only £20.

Entries are judged by a panel of international fashion luminaries with an awards ceremony held on the night.

Freya added: “As each year’s event is bigger and more elaborate than the previous, there is nothing that will prepare you for what you are about to experience.”

Designers are invited to submit applications via: www.thisisfrontrow.com - deadline April 30.
