Hundreds of people were at Hastings Lifeboat Station on Saturday for the naming ceremony of the town's newest lifeboat.
The Revd David Wotton was on hand to lead the dedication service as the new £25,000 D Class inshore boat was officially unveiled.

Named Daphne May, the five metre boat replaces the old inshore boat and can carry a small crew of up to three people and is ideal for emergencies close to shore.

The boat was donated by Martin Lovegrove and was officially accepted on behalf of the lifeboat team here in Hastings by lifeboat operations manager Peter Adams.

The Daphne May was blessed during the ceremony on Saturday, which attracted more than 200 people including a host of local dignitries.

It will now go into active service patrolling the shoreline around Hastings.
