It wasn’t just football that was wiped out by the freezing temperatures at the weekend.
Rugby was also affected with Hastings & Bexhill’s match away to Kent One leaders Gillingham Anchorians postponed owing to a frozen pitch.
With all the division’s other matches also postponed, H&B remain fifth in the table following their fine 39-17 victory at home to second-placed Vigo the previous weekend.
As far as football was concerned, the only action in the locality over the weekend came in the form of two East Sussex League matches.
Herstmonceux ran out comfortable 6-2 winners at home to Peche Hill Select II in Division Three, while AFC Sidley came from behind to triumph 3-1 away to Victoria Baptists in Division Five.
