Bowlers roll into national semis

The Egerton Park IBC ladies' team which is through to the semi-finals of the national Yetton Plate competition

Egerton Park Ladies have reached the semi-finals of a national indoor bowls knockout competition.

The Bexhill club will face Folkestone IBC in the last four of the Yetton Plate today (Thursday) with two rinks at home and two away.

The winners will advance to the final on Sunday February 17 in Northampton where they will meet the winners of the other semi-final involving Durham IBC and Riverain IBC, which is also scheduled to be played today.

Park beat Nailsea IBC, from Bristol, 67-62 in the quarter-finals on Thursday, last week, at Loddon Vale IBC, Basingstoke.

Sheila Brown, Doreen Gibbs, Marion Boswell and Marjorie Hendle won 16-12, Di Stone, Tricia Newman, Lyndsey Jamison and Lorraine Kemp lost 13-23, Jean Noble, Ann Pole, Doris Wickenden and Mandy Carrie lost 15-16, and Margaret Adcock, Gwen Mann, Doreen Hough and Jan Pilcher won 23-11.

Park previously knocked out Atherley IBC 77-72, Worthing IBC 96-72, Horsham IBC 82-79 and Denton Island IBC 85-59.
