Rye Rugby Club clinched the Sussex Shield following a close-fought 20-19 victory over local rivals Hastings & Bexhill at a muddy Brighton RFC on Sunday. Two tries from Jamie Moore, plus two conversions and two penalties by Percy Fitzgerald, gave Rye their first ever win over H&B and first piece of silverware for 10 years. H&B’s points came from a Ben Campbell try, plus four penalties and a conversion by Paul Sandeman.
