Beauport Park Golf Club assistant professional Colton Alleyne-Davis enjoyed a second successive fourth place finish to leave himself in pole position to secure a European Tour debut.

The 23-year-old shot rounds of 72, 72 and 76 over the Faldo Course at Oceanico Amendoeira Golf Resort in Portugal on the Algarve Winter Tour.

Alleyne-Davis wrote on social network site Twitter afterwards: “Brutal conditions 2day, kept it together but a 4th place AGAIN! Been a great trip tho with two very solid performances #HappyEnough”

His two top-five finishes means he now leads the 2014 Order of Merit, which concludes with a final tournament over the O’Connor Course at the same resort from March 3-5.

If the former ARK William Parker Academy student maintains his top spot and wins the Order of Merit, he will qualify for the Madeira Islands Open in May, a European Tour event with a £600,000 purse.
