Mark Davis has moved up to a career high 13th in the latest world snooker rankings which were announced today (Wednesday).

The St Leonards potter has just come to the end of the best season of his career, having reached the semi-finals of three full-ranking events, including the prestigious UK Championship, as well as winning the Six Reds World Championship.

Davis recently stunned four-time champion John Higgins 10-6 in the first round of the BetFair World Snooker Championship, before going down 13-10 to sixth-ranked Stuart Bingham in the last 16.

Davis, 40, has moved above the likes of Matthew Stevens, Mark Williams and Ali Carter in these latest rankings, having been 16th before the World Championship began and been forced to qualify following the decision of Ronnie O’Sullivan to return to the sport.
