Iden’s title hopes suffered a setback with a 10-wicket drubbing on Saturday.

The village club was skittled out for 75 by Barcombe in a one-sided Division One clash at The Park. Phil Bourn was the only batsman to reach double figures with 22 and the visitors needed only 13.4 overs to seal victory.

Robertsbridge triumphed by one run in a thrilling Division Two derby away to second-placed Battle. David Collins top-scored with 52 as Bridge were all out for 158, Mike Gedye taking 6-41.

But Battle were dismissed for 157 in reply after last man Peter Matthews, who top-scored with 25, was bowled by Guy Ballard. Allan Hughes was the pick of the bowlers with 4-30.

In the same division, Rye drew at home to leaders St Peters. Rye made 188-6 batting first thanks largely to Richard Weller (68) and Dan Seabrook (58) before limited their opponents for 167-6, Martin Blincow bagging 3-41.

Pett beat Heathfield Park seconds by 35 runs and Little Common Ramblers lost by seven wickets to table-topping Mayfield in Division Four.

Full reports and more tables will appear in Friday’s Observers.
