Hastings United will seek to continue their excellent form in this season’s knockout competitions tonight (Wednesday).

The U’s will travel to Peacehaven & Telscombe in a tricky-looking Sussex Senior Cup third round tie having lost just two of their 15 cup matches so far this term.

Although United play their football two levels above their opponents, they are third-bottom of the Ryman League Premier Division and Peacehaven are top of Sussex County League Division One.

Sean Ray’s side has already knocked out one team going well in the Sussex League, but the U’s were made to work for their 4-1 victory over Pagham in late November.

Whoever comes out on top will host Crawley Town or Newhaven, who are also due to meet tonight, in a quarter-final tie provisionally scheduled for February 26/27. Kick-off at The Sports Park is 7.30pm.
