Harrogate Town v Hastings United: Crowd of 3,500 expected for FA Cup 2nd round tie

THE atmosphere is building here at the CNG Stadium as Hastings put the final touches to their prerparations for this FA Cup second round tie at Harrogate, writes Simon Newstead.

Harrogate have sold 3,000 advance tickets and Hastings around 300 tickets, and with others being snapped up on the day, officials are expecting a crowd of around 3,500.

The teams are in and United have made several changes from the side which beat Bishops Stortford 2-1 in the previous round four weeks ago.

Jack Dixon and Dee Okojie both start in an attacking-looking United line-up on a sunny but cold afternoon in North Yorkshire.

The pitch looks as though it is bearing a few scars from the heavy rain of last week and the early part of this week and it may well cut up as the match goes on.

Blue Square Bet North side Harrogate won away to League 2 club Torquay United in the previous round and will no doubt fancy their chances at home to lower league opposition.

But Ryan League Premier Division outfit Hastings have already beaten two teams from Harrogate’s level in this season’s competition.

Hastings have won five matches in all to get to this stage and a sixth win this afternoon would put them into the third round along with the Premier League big guns.

Hastings: Armstrong-Ford, Cox, Whitehead, Carey, Ray, Jirbandey, Dixon, Crellin, Okojie, Attwood, Goldberg. Subs: Ellis, Manning, Camara, Richardson, Bachellier, Winchester, Abbott.

Referee: Mark Brown (Hull).
