Rye United and Three Bridges will lock horns yet again tonight (Wednesday).

The Sussex County Football League title rivals will do battle in a John O’Hara League Cup semi-final at Crowborough Athletic FC, kick-off 7.30pm.

It will be the eighth meeting between the clubs in the last two seasons and Rye currently lead the head-to-head 5-2 following their 3-2 Sussex RUR Charity Cup last four triumph at Lancing FC last month.

Rye manager Scott Price said: “The pitch won’t suit either of us and it’s going to be completely different than it was at Lancing. I think we know each other pretty well and it’s going to be a good game for the neutral.”

There should be no shortage of options for Price because Ben Radley (pictured) and Jono Richardson will return after missing the weekend win over Selsey.

Kenny Pogue is expected to be in the squad, although Duncan McArthur is sidelined with a back problem and Shaun Loft is struggling with illness but should be okay.

Rye are top of the league and have won their last seven matches in all competitions, while third-placed Bridges, who are 11 points behind with five games in hand, have won 16 and drawn three of their last 19 league fixtures.
