As expected, the transfer of former Maidstone United striker Alex Akrofi was completed yesterday, along with loan deals for Leyton Orient youngsters Myles Judd and forward Victor Adeboyejo.

Full-back Judd, incidentally, became the fifth youngest player to have made their competitive debut for Orient when he came on as a substitute in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie away to Luton Town aged 16 years and 189 days last September.

Adeboyejo has made two first team appearances for Orient, both as a substitute, firstly against Peterborough United in December 2014 and then in an FA Cup tie against Scunthorpe United last December.

The 18-year-old has also had loan/work experience spells with non-league clubs Royston Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Heybridge Swifts, Dulwich Hamlet and Soham Town Rangers.

United forward Bright Temba, meanwhile, has joined Eastbourne Town on a dual registration basis. U's boss Darren Hare is keen for Temba to get some game time under his belt, but insists the player is very much part of his long term plans.

Barry Cogan will return for the Dorking clash and Hare is hoping Steve Watt will be fit, but Sam Cole is out and Stephen Butcher is also unlikely to make it. Butcher this week had his arm in a sling after rupturing his rotator cuff against Herne Bay on Tuesday, last week.

Hare expects United’s next two games - away to Dorking and then Greenwich Borough on Tuesday - to be the first real tests of their Ryman Football League Division One South campaign.

United have won three and drawn three of their first six league games, but they’ve played four of the bottom six and none of the top eight.

Dorking - who have recently signed United’s top scorer from last season Billy Medlock - are third with 18 points from a possible 21 and Greenwich are fifth with 16 points from eight games.

“In terms of our promotion aspirations, this will be a test for us,” said Hare, who watched Dorking beat Chipstead on Tuesday. “It’s going to be a very difficult game for us on Saturday. Having said that, I don’t think they will have come up against a team like us. It’s going to be a difficult game to call I think.”
