The Hastings United/Ark William Parker academy team will line up in the FA Youth Cup tonight (Friday).

The academy team will entertain Eastbourne Town under-18s in a first round qualifying tie at The Pilot Field, kick-off 7.30pm. Admission is £3 for adults and free for under-18s.

The Hastings United/Ark William Parker academy squad has been introduced this season. Players combine football with A Level and B-Tech courses, as well as taking FA coaching and refereeing qualifications.

Interested parents and potential students are invited to attend a question and answer session in the main clubhouse at half time and full time tonight, with tutors and coaching staff from the football academy available to discuss potential pathways in football and education.

The Hastings United/Ark William Parker academy team won 6-3 at home to Carshalton Athletic in the previous round and lost 2-0 at home to Lewes in its opening Conference Youth Alliance league game.

The team also contested pre-season friendlies against Fulham Academy and AFC Wimbledon Academy, winning 4-3 and drawing 1-1 respectively.

United’s development squad will host Whyteleafe in the Ryman U21 League South Division on Monday, kick-off 7.30pm.

* The club is running a coach to tomorrow’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie away to Herne Bay, leaving the Pilot Field at 11.30am.

The cost is £12 for adults, with a £2 discount available to members of the supporters’ club, and £5 for all under-18s. Contact Dave Russell on 07970 332270 or email davidrussell881@hotmail.co.uk to book a place.
