HASTINGS United will face Hitchin Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The Canaries booked a trip to The Pilot Field on Saturday October 6 with a 5-0 thumping of Whitehawk in last night’s replay. The first match had ended in a 1-1 draw.

Hitchin currently sit mid-table in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier with nine points from eight games.

Hastings, meanwhile, clinched a superb 3-2 win away to higher grade Staines Town on Saturday thanks to a double strike from Bradley Goldberg and Dee Okojie’s first goal for the club.

The last time Hastings progressed to this stage of the competition was way back in 2004.
