All today’s senior games now off
All of today's senior football in the area has been postponed due to the wintry weather
All of today’s (Saturday) football matches involving the area’s senior clubs have now been postponed.
Bexhill United’s scheduled trip to Newhaven in Sussex County League Division Two was called-off last night (Friday) due to the wintry weather even though the Dockers had Tweeted earlier in the day to say there would be a 10am pitch inspection this morning.
Other games cancelled earlier yesterday included Hastings United versus Carshalton Athletic in the Ryman League Premier Division, Rye United’s scheduled visit from Guernsey in the last 32 of the FA Vase, the Sussex Division One fixture between Crowborough Athletic and Sidley United, the Division Two Challenge Cup quarter-final involving Littlehampton Town and Little Common, and Westfield’s clash at home to Seaford Town in Division Two.
The weather gods have frowned on footballers this season with a whole host of matches lost to initially rain and now snow, and the closing weeks of the campaign promise to be very congested with clubs attempting to catch up on what they’ve missed.
