BEXHILL slumped to a seven wicket defeat away to Preston Nomads in the Sussex Premier Cricket League.

The visitors struggled to recover from a dreadful start which saw them lose their first three wickets for 12 runs.

Jack Richardson (25) and Callum Guest (14) tried to steady the ship before Shawn Johnson (17) and James Vaughan (15) dug in lower down the order.

Bexhill were eventually all out for 106 off 41.5 overs with the damage being done by Carl Simon (4-30) and Matt Hobden (4-34).

Preston knocked off the runs for the lost of three wickets with Guest returning fine figures of 1-19 off 11 overs.
