Battle outgun champs Iden

Battle's fine season in Division One of the East Sussex Cricket League continued on Saturday.

Mike Gedye's side, promoted from Division Two last summer, moved up to third place by seeing off reigning champions Iden.

Battle bowled Iden out for 185 after winning the toss and choosing to field, and proceeded to reach their target with six wickets in hand.

Elsewhere, Crowhurst Park chalked up a resounding 10-wicket win over Rottingdean, who were all out for 100 after winning the toss and choosing to bat.

Rye contested a draw against Ringmer, finishing their innings on 185-4 in reply to Ringmer's total of 258-6.

In Division Three, Pett made it three wins in a row with a two-wicket triumph over Crowborough, Robertsbridge defeated Newick II by 85 runs and Herstmonceux had the better part of a draw against Bells Yew Green.
