THE race for the East Sussex Cricket League is bubbling up nicely with only three points separating the top two after the latest round of fixtures.
Iden still lead the way despite sinking to a two wicket defeat at home to neighbouring Rye.

Iden compiled 172 all out and it was only Phil Shanks (84) who held the innings together. Imtiaz Hossein (4-50) and Martin Blincow (2-26) starred with the ball.

Rye looked to be coasting to victory at 150-4 but the loss of some quick wickets meant they endured some nervy moments before Hossein saw them over the line at 175-8.

Defending champions Crowhurst Park are hot on iden's heels following a convincing eight wicket win over Barcombe.

The visitors amassed 219-9 with the pick of the Park bowlers being Michael Legg who claimed 5-56 off 16 overs.

Martin Barry spearheaded the reply by smashing a stunning 146 not out as Park finished on 221-2. Support came from skipper Peter Eames (30)

Battle remain top in Division Two even though they could only manage a draw against Eastbourne III. Chasing an imposing 255, Battle finished on 170-8.

Pett are three points off the summit in Division Three after chalking up a thrilling four run win over Lewes St Michael's.
