Battling Bexhill clinch cup double

Bexhill United clinched an historic cup double in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night.
United added the Sussex County FA Intermediate Cup to the Sussex County Football League Division Three Challenge Cup by sinking Loxwood 3-0 on penalties.
Manager Paul Tuppenney enthused: "This is what it's all about. There's nothing better than winning trophies. They've been magnificent."
Goalkeeper Arron Heritage was the hero after producing tremendous saves from all three spot kicks he faced at the well-appointed Jubilee Field, home of Three Bridges FC.
Captain Warren Parsons and Mark Munday converted United's first two penalties and, although Jack Aston missed the third, Andy Garman drilled home the fourth to clinch the silverware.
The game between Division Three champions Loxwood and runners-up Bexhill ended 1-1 after normal and extra-time on a perfect evening for football.
Loxwood took a deserved 29th minute lead through midfielder Claude Pett, but United's never-say-die spirit saw them clinch a 91st minute equaliser when Munday headed home David Harris' inviting cross.
