More than 50 people turned up at Catsfield village hall on Saturday to bid for an amazing 97 lots at a fundraising auction of promises.
The lots ranged from a signed England football shirt to three months supply of free range eggs, and every single lot was bid for, raising a grand total of £4,400 for Catsfield School.

Scott Lavocah, vice chairman of the PTA and event coordinator, thanked everyone for attending and supporting the event.

Special thanks were made to the PTA, who had worked so hard in obtaining promises and helping on the night and to those who had generously provided promises.

He also thanked the auctioneer, Mark Hudson, who not only used his skills to encourage the bidding but kept everyone entertained as well.

Scott added: "I never imagined that we'd raise so much.

"When it was first suggested we did an auction of promises I must admit that I wasn't keen, but when you see how much time and effort members of the PTA put into this you can see why it was such a tremendous success."

The money raised from this event will help fund a much needed upgrade of the school's ICT hardware and software.

The children will now be writing thank you letters to all the individuals and businesses who donated the promises for the auction.
