An ungrateful cow snubbed two firecrews who raced to rescue it from a ditch.
The bovine was spotted stuck in a ditch just off Harley Shute Road yesterday evening at around 6.45pm.

Passers-by called the emergency services and a special animal rescue unit was called from Crowborough to help the local fire crews.

However, as soon as the animal saw the fuss it was creating it walked out of the ditch all on its own.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the cow moved itself almost as soon as it saw the firefighters.

A spokeswoman said: "Maybe it didn't like the look of them."
