A TEA room in an up-and-coming area of St Leonards has been recognised in a prestigious national competition.
Aardvark Tea Room and Gallery, which is in Marina, came joint runner-up in the Coastal Magazine Awards' Best Coastal Café, Pub or Restaurant category.

This despite only having been open for six months.

The popular venue was nominated by its customers and managed to impress the judging panel.

Lesley Greening Lassoff, who runs the tea room, said: "We specialise in locally sourced food and high quality art and craft items, and our St Leonards souvenirs are locally designed and made.

"We're proud to be part of the regeneration of St Leonards."
