West St Leonard primary school children were allowed to wear their jeans to school when they took part in Denim For Diabetes.
Youngsters at the Harley Shute Road school paid £1 to wear their denim to school, and raised almost £250.

The event was organised by a mother of one of the school children, Caroline Cornford, who has had diabetes for four years and wanted to make the children and their parents more aware of diabetes and its complications.

Caroline said: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at West St Leonards School for supporting such a worthy cause."

Caroline is a member of the local branch of Diabetes UK called Hastings And Rother Diabetics (HARD). Anyone interested in attending HARD meetings is asked to look at www.diabetesinhastings.btik.com or call 01424 729622.
