A DAY of dance at the White Rock Theatre raised more than £3,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support.James Shepherd and his fellow dance enthusiasts handed over a cheque for £3,029 this week following the successful event held last month.

For a small fee budding dancers were given beginners lessons in Argentinian tango, Le Roc jive, salsa and lindy-hop.
Once the classes were finished organisers staged a ball in the evening complete with chocolate fountain, a raffle and music.
The cheque was handed over at Harley's Social Club on Bexhill Road during one of James Shepherd's weekly dance lessons.
Mr Shepherd said: "It was a great day and brilliant to see so many people taking an interest in dance. The fact we could raise money for such a worthwhile cause in the process just made the day even better.
"We are hoping to hold a similar event next year and want to make it bigger and better."
