Over the past week or so while walking my dogs through Alexandra Park I noticed the water in Harmers Pond was getting higher.
The water level in the lake is controlled by way of a valve that has to be manually operated. This is a nonsense anyway as it should be controlled by a simple overflow system, but seeing as it does have to be controlled manually, why was this not done?
It has led to the council or its contractor (either way, taxpayers’ money) employing a company complete with a hired pump to post a staff member at the lake and pump it out this will be costing thousands of our pounds.
Is this all down to the fact that not enough sheets of paper have been pushed from desk to desk to fulfil the councils money wasting system?
Why is our money getting wasted in this way?
