Why didn’t she cast her vote?

I was interested to read the letter from Lynn Jenkins in the September 18 paper concerning Amber Rudd’s views on the Assisted Dying Bill debated on September 11.

Having written to Ms Rudd earlier this year to find out her views on the matter, her response indicated that she would wait until the debate itself before coming to a decision so that she could hear both sides of the argument.

I watched the debate but did not see her in the chamber, nor could I find her vote registered either for or against the motion.

Sadly, I have to conclude that she didn’t consider the debate worthy of her attention.

As this is a matter upon which some of her electors feel strongly I am very disappointed that she herself wasn’t present at this vote.
