What is the council’s rationale for closing public lavatories in the most economically important part of the town in order to save money, while at the same time spending public money on building a second unwanted kiosk on one of the promenade’s few ‘balcony’ areas - in the process displacing three bench seats where people can sit and look at the sea?

It is a microcosm of the Government’s investment of £billions of our taxes on a vanity rail project that serves two cities, while the NHS, schools, the care system and house-building across the country are all in desperate need of additional funding.
