We will minimise the impact of cuts

I WONDER whether you would allow me take the opportunity to thank residents in the Hollington and Wishing Tree area who came out to support me again recently in the East Sussex County Council Elections.

As always my part of the bargain will be to give 110 per cent to an area I grew up in and still love dearly.

As these continue to be financially challenging times and with the former Conservative administration’s commitment to £60 million worth of savings over the next three years (£34 million) from Adult Social Care alone in the pipeline it does mean that we will see services reduced or delivered in a very different way.

One of the roles now of the seven strong Labour county councillors in Hastings will be to look to minimise the impact of these cuts to our residents across Hastings and St Leonards and indeed across East Sussex, you can be assured that we will do exactly that with the strongest representation this town has ever seen with seven out of the eight county seats coming to Labour.
