THE local election this year in Hastings raised many diverse views and opinions. From personally campaigning with Councillor Warren Davies on the evening of May 3, I am delighted to see that Labour now has a major presence in Hastings and St Leonards.
One letter that was previously printed in the Observer regarding the Labour Party’s victory addressed Cllr Davies as arrogant and acting ‘tribalistic’. This was unfair and uncalled for. Celebration was in order and I was very proud and honoured to be a part of the local elections as a Labour supporter and voter.
Anyone who is criticising the number of Labour councillors who were elected should just wait and see how much change they can bring compared to the Conservatives. At least give Labour a chance to prove themselves.
