Trust gratitude for pier support

FOLLOWING the tremendous news that has been received this week from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which will assure the future of a pier for Hastings and St Leonards, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have made this possible.

Our thanks go out to those who marched with us, and those who stood with us in some of those dark days over the last five years.

We can never thank enough all of you that supported our many fundraising events, or gave so generously of the fruits of their own efforts to preserve our pier.

Our gratitude is extended to those who have supported our shop at White Rock, and the many stalls that have appeared at different events throughout the town, all to raise the funds that have supported this campaign.

We must not forget the bounteous nature of our senior citizens, both for their material help, and their generosity in sharing with us their many memories of how the pier had touched their lives. While at the other end of the generation gap it was a touching experience to witness some of our very youngest citizens so readily sharing their pocket money with a cause that may well play a part in their own future.

Without all of your help the result that came this week would not have been possible. Now the hard work starts, and the support of you all remains paramount on the long journey to deliver not our pier, but your pier.

Our heartfelt thanks.
